What We Do

Bridging the Gap provides compassionate case management and support services for individuals and families facing housing instability, food insecurity, utility hardships, mental health challenges, and substance use concerns throughout Nash and Edgecombe Counties. Our Goal Together, we're bridging the gap! Delivering compassionate case management and support services that connect individuals and families to the resources they need to achieve healing, wellness, and stability in Nash and Edgecombe Counties. Our Approach Our community-centered case management approach focuses on healing, dignity, and access to essential support to those impacted by substances.

Services Offered

Housing Assistance

Help finding safe, stable, and affordable housing for individuals and families in need.

Food Access

Access to nutritious food and community resources to address food insecurity.

Utility Support

Support paying utility bills, including electricity, water, and heating.

Mental Health Services

Mental health screenings and referrals, substance use assessments and recovery support, and peer support and treatment navigation.

Case Management

Individualized case management, care coordination and referrals, goal setting and service planning, and peer support and advocacy.

"I think probably for young people, teenagers, there's peer pressure and that sense of discovery and trying things and so forth. Um, that's a pretty natural thing. …Some parents actively encourage drinking, and some even though they may drink, discourage it and that can sometimes backfire, depending on how you address that."
