N.O.R.A. — Nash Opioid Response & Assistance

A Community Rooted Case Management Initiative

What We Do

The Nash Opioid Response & Assistance (N.O.R.A.) program provides compassionate, person-centered case management to help individuals impacted by opioid use access the resources they need for recovery. Our dedicated team links individuals in need of services with relevant providers and organizations, facilitates smooth transitions, coordinates care, and follows up until clients feel confident in their ability to thrive independently. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness — it's a powerful step toward healing, growth, and hope. Struggles with substance abuse and mental health can feel isolating, overwhelming, and impossible to face alone, but recovery becomes more achievable with support, guidance, and connection. N.O.R.A. meets individuals where they are — no judgment, no barriers.

N.O.R.A. is funded by the Nash County Opioid Settlement Fund.

How We Help

We link individuals in need of services with relevant providers and organizations, facilitate smooth transitions, coordinate care, and follow up until clients feel confident in their ability to thrive independently. Our person-centered approach begins with meeting individuals exactly where they are — without judgment, without barriers. 1. Rapid Engagement — Building trust and understanding each person's unique situation and needs. 2. Resource Connection — Linking participants with MAT providers, behavioral health services, housing support, and more. 3. Care Coordination — Facilitating smooth transitions between services and providers. 4. Ongoing Follow-Up — Continuous case management and encouragement until clients thrive independently. 5. Peer Recovery — Connecting with lived-experience peer specialists who provide hope, understanding, and practical guidance.

Community Voices

"...The compassion that the doctors, social workers and people had with me...kind of led me into a better place...going from inpatient to outpatient...and now, you know, trying to get back to work and get my own place..."

Nash County Participant

Addiction Algebra, 2023

"Drug treatment is lacking in Nash County. Resources for folks who are unemployed, they're lacking, I mean there's people who can't afford to pay for their medicine and they're chronically sick..."

On Challenges

"I think probably for young people, teenagers, there's peer pressure and that sense of discovery and trying things and so forth. Um, that's a pretty natural thing. …Some parents actively encourage drinking, and some even though they may drink, discourage it and that can sometimes backfire, depending on how you address that."

On Why People Misuse Substances

"I have learned to go outside of the house, get in my car, turn my meditation music on… I just seek my father. I just go to my faith place and just meditate."
